Principal Consultant – Tracey Kuusk

Through consultative, front-line and senior positions, Tracey brings over 20 years of diverse HR experience as a hands-on human resource management generalist with organizations large and small with exposure to a variety of sectors including mining, oil and gas, utilities, construction, manufacturing, retail, transportation, finance and insurance, professional and technical services, administrative, education, health care / social assistance, recreation, and tourism / accommodations.

Over the years, applying a lens of best practices, Tracey has been fortunate to apply her skill in for-profit / private, not-for-profit / charitable, and broader public service organizations where she has been able to process and manage all activities of the human resource and payroll functions, and fill gaps associated with vacant senior positions in organizations. These experiences have resulted in significant insight into the interplay and connectedness of systems, processes, practices, and people.

From on-boarding to off-boarding, Tracey has demonstrated success in handling and redeveloping all aspects of the employee life cycle. She has: developed recruitment systems; recommended and implemented information systems, group benefits, and organizational restructuring; conducted health and safety, HR and operational compliance audits; revised and streamlined ALL organizational policies and procedures to meet changing legislation; handled labour relations issues, including Ministry of Labour, Human Rights and Pay Equity complaints, harassment investigations, grievances, mediations and arbitrations, collective bargaining, and contingency planning; developed and rolled out training initiatives; coached senior managers with their human resource accountabilities, and provided support and guidance with terminations.

Tracey has also been instrumental in strategic visioning and planning, shaping the culture and priorities of the organization.

Tracey believes in a strategic and integrated approach to business solutions that is driven by the vision, mission, and values of the organization and that the health of an organization is impacted by the health of its people, and the efficiency of its systems.

Tracey is a firm believer in sharing one’s gifts, skills and passions with community, supporting many initiatives in a volunteer capacity including adult literacy, youth leadership and development, information sharing in the human resource field, youth sports, community inclusion, and serving as a board member.

Tracey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (English and Cultural Studies), a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management and is a member of the Human Resource Professionals Association (HRPA).

Tracey is fortunate to live in beautiful Muskoka, Ontario with her husband and two boys. She is an avid nature lover, and enjoys being off trail in the woods, or on a lake, whenever possible.
